Celebrating TAAC Presidents

Inez Williams-Hall was born in Lake City, Columbia County, Florida. Inez and her sister were raised primarily by their great grandmother Louella Parrish; and, they had monthly visits and summers with their mother and step-father. After graduating from high school, Inez entered Hampton Institute, which is now called Hampton University (an HBCU). She graduated in May 1960 with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Biology. Inez states, "I was the first generation in my family to attend college". After graduating from Hampton, Inez married her high school sweetheart (the late) Leroy Bailey, in 1962. During their 30 year marriage, they would become the proud parents of two children, a son Craig and a daughter Carla. Once she graduated and started working, Inez realized she was good with children and good with people. She worked fourteen and a half years as a teacher for grades Kindergarten through twelve (K-12). Inez states "I realized the students believed in what I had to say and they trusted me. I was a very popular teacher". Inez's greatest responsibility during her teaching career occurred at Ruckel Junior High School, Niceville, Florida. Inez accepted the mantel to become the first African American teacher to integrate a Niceville, Florida public school. During her years as a teacher, Inez continued her education, at which time she received her master's in Education and Counseling. This degree led Inez to Northwest Florida State College where she worked as a teacher and counselor for over twenty-three years. During this time, Inez became campus President of Florida Association of Community Colleges and the Regional Director for Florida Association of Community Colleges. However, Inez states "my most significant accomplishment was my political appointment, by the then Governor Lawton Chiles, to serve on the Post-Secondary Education Planning Commission (PEPC). Inez married the late William (Bill) Hall in 2004. They traveled to many interesting places both in the United States and abroad. They relocated to The Villages in 2010. Inez enjoys activities such as golf, cards, exercise classes and walking. She also enjoys participating in activities of The African American Club of The Villages (TAAC) and her church. She especially enjoys singing in the church choir. During her (2015-2016) term as President of TAAC, her administration commissioned the club's WEB site and implemented activities during the customary hiatus months of July and August.
