LeRoy lived in Washington DC for 30 years he is 1of 10 children (6 boys 4 girls and he is the first boy). LeRoy attended Chamberlain Vocational HS and went on to play Semi-Pro football for the Montgomery County Cardinals for 13 years. Though he loved his days as an athlete, LeRoy went on to obtain work in printing. LeRoy’s first printing job was in DC at Common Cause where he met his wife. LeRoy and Dawn married had two children and relocated to Long Island New York to be closer to Dawn’s family. LeRoy quickly got a job as a Printer for Printing Dynamics where he worked for 18 years. Whether you needed resumes, newsletters, or business cards if it required printing, folding, or binding including books LeRoy was your man!
It was only natural that I asked LeRoy if our TAAC commemorative book could be re-created (hint-hint). After the purchase of their home, LeRoy began working for Suffolk County Copy Center where he operated a flatbed printer, and retired after 20 years. It was at this time Dawn asked if they could relocate again but to Florida in The Villages to be closer to her father. They moved to The Villages in February of 2020 in the Village of Linden at the height of Covid-19! LeRoy did not have much of an opportunity to experience the retired good life in the beginning, however, he is now active playing bid whist. It would surprise you to learn that LeRoy is an avid cook and the cook of the family, he says he learned to cook from his grandmother.
LeRoy says his favorite dishes are pulled pork, ribs, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese (yum)! LeRoy says he looks forward to continuing his leisure activities, and traveling which includes visiting Italy, London, and going on an Alaskan cruise. LeRoy is also a new grandfather to Melody who is now 1 years old.
