Ken was raised in a close-knit neighborhood in West Medford, Massachusetts. He is the oldest of 3. Ken is an Army Veteran and comes from a long line of military servicemen including 5 Uncles who served as officers at the same time during WW II. Ken is very much an artist at heart. After graduating from the Art Institute of Boston he became a Graphic Designer and Technical Illustrator for Raytheon Technologies where he met his wife, Mary. Ken worked at Raytheon for 40 years and took advantage of the opportunities the expansive aerospace and defense company had to offer. While working for Raytheon Ken discovered his strength and affinity were in finance so he returned to school at Fitchburg State University and studied Business Finance and became a Senior Financial Analyst and Manager.

Ken had always dreamed of retiring to San Diego and his dream came true when Ken & Mary moved there in 2000. During a visit to The Villages, they found the unique lifestyle and multitude of activities appealing and moved to The Villages in 2005.

Ken became a member of TAAC in 2006, was the Vice President of TAAC under the leadership of Walter Martin in 2009-2010 and was the Committee Chair of Membership for 9 years from 2008-2017. Ken took membership very seriously; he redesigned, then created, and implemented the new TAAC name tags (that you can still see members wearing today!). He created the first TAAC Newsletter. Another activity he enjoyed was assisting with Bocci Golf and the Saturday Golf Scrambles. Ken is also a member of the Sophisticated Gents and shared with me his artistic talent designing décor for TAAC and Sophisticated Gents events including the Black and White Balls. The décor was absolutely Amazing!

Ken is the father of 2 daughters, a grandfather of 2 granddaughters, and has a 9-year-old great-grandson who loves Taekwondo. Although Ken is no longer as active on the administrative side of clubs, he shows no signs of slowing down. He is an active member of TAAC, the Sophisticated Gents of Florida, the Corvette Club, E-Flyers, Cloud Chasers, Men’s Book Club. He is most proud of his Golf and Lunch group ‘The Amigos’ which he started in 2019 with just 4 members and is now a healthy baker’s dozen who enjoy golf, great food, fellowship, and spirited conversation!

Ken’s vision is to continue to live a blessed life, as he states “not in the material sense but with substance”, to follow his faith, to maintain his health through exercise, and to continue to be involved in charitable organizations. Ken has a strong commitment to the cause, the gift of time, and the willingness to use personal and professional resources, to enhance TAAC’s mission and other worthwhile agendas. As Ken puts it “I appreciate when things happen and come to fruition!” At the end of our conversation, it was befitting that I requested his expertise in accentuating the fusion of the old with the new regarding our TAAC membership committee and once again Ken showed his unwavering dedication by saying yes! Welcome back to the Membership Committee Ken!
